mystical union

The triune God owes us nothing, yet gives us everything.

He is worthy of praise because he has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the celestial realms:

In Christ, God gives us the spiritual blessing of election, that we may be consecrated and conformed to the image of his Son Jesus Christ.

In Christ, God gives us the spiritual blessing of predestination, that we may be adopted into the family of God as sons and daughters by means of baptism.

In Christ, God gives us the spiritual blessing of redemption, that we may be delivered from our sins and delight in his forgiveness.

In Christ, God gives us the spiritual blessing of revelation, that we may know the mystery of the gospel for the world.

In Christ, God gives us the spiritual blessing of reconciliation, that we may be gathered together and everything put in its right place.

In Christ, God gives us the spiritual blessing of adoption, that we may receive our lot of the inheritance with Jesus Christ, the Beloved Son of God.

In Christ, God gives us the spiritual blessing of glorification, that we may be transformed and enjoy eternal life in the image and likeness of Jesus.

In Christ, God gives us the spiritual blessing of revelation, that we may know the mystery of the gospel, and believe truly and fully in Jesus Christ, and experience the hope of life in the power and glory of God.

All these spiritual blessings (and more!) are yours in union and communion with Christ — the gravitational center of all things in heaven and earth — by grace through faith.

Christ is the person upon whom the Church stands or falls — and mystical union with Christ is the doctrine that expresses that truth.

No one has ever given a gift to God that he might be repaid by God, for from God and through God and to God are for all things, to the praise of his glorious grace.

To God be the glory forever.
