Prayer for the Church / Oracion por la Iglesia

The earth will be filled
    with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord
    as the waters cover the sea.
The Lord is in his holy temple:
    let all the earth keep silence before him.

Así como las aguas cubren los mares,
    así también se llenará la tierra
    del conocimiento de la gloria del Señor.
El Señor está en su santo templo:
    calle delante de El toda la tierra.

CALL TO WORSHIP | God Gathers His People –

– Come Thou Long Expected Jesus

Scripture Reading and Invocation / Lectura y Invocación  Psalm / Salmo 25

To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
O my God, in you I trust;
    let me not be put to shame;
    let not my enemies exult over me.
Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
    they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.
Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
    teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth and teach me,
    for you are the God of my salvation;
    for you I wait all the day long.
Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
    for they have been from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
    according to your steadfast love remember me,
    for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!
Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
He leads the humble in what is right,
    and teaches the humble his way.
All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
    for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

A ti, Señor, elevo mi alma;
    mi Dios, en ti confío;
    jamás será avergonzado;
pero quedarán en vergüenza
    los que traicionan sin razón.
Señor, hazme conocer tus caminos;
    muéstrame tus sendas.
Encamíname en tu verdad, ¡enséñame!
    Tú eres mi Dios y Salvador;
    ¡en ti pongo mi esperanza todo el día!
Acuérdate, Señor, de tu ternura y gran amor,
    que siempre me has mostrado;
olvida los pecados y transgresiones

    que cometí en mi juventud.
Acuérdate de mí según tu gran amor,

    porque tú, Señor, eres bueno.
Bueno y justo es el Señor;
    por eso les muestra a los pecadores el camino.

Lord’s Prayer / El Padre Nuestro

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom
and the power and the glory forever.
Amen

Padre nuestro que estás en el cielo,
santificado sea tu nombre.
mas líbranos del mal;
Amen.

CONFESSION OF SINS | God Forgives His People

Minister: Let us humble ourselves and confess our sins.

Ministro: Que nos humillemos y confesar nuestros pecados.

God of mercy, we acknowledge that we are all sinners. We want to turn from the wrong that we have thought and said and done, and we are mindful of all that we have failed to do. For the sake of Jesus, who died for us, forgive us for all the darkness of our past, and help us to live each day in the light of Christ our Lord. Amen

Assurance of Pardon / Seguridad de Perdón –

Everyone who trusts in God from the heart will be justified; the one who humbles himself will be exalted.

CONSECRATION | God Equips His People

Scripture Reading – Jeremiah 33:14-16; John 8:2-12

“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will fulfill the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David, and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

Early in the morning Jesus came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and he sat down and taught them. The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Collect. Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Sermon: Tamar – Matthew 1:3; Genesis 38; Ruth 4:12, 18-21

Pastoral Prayer –

Lighten our darkness, we ask you, O Lord; and by your great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of the world, the flesh, and the devil; grant us the grace to turn back to you again as often as we turn away, wipe away our tears, mend our broken hearts, bind up our wounds, for the love of your only Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Confession of Faith

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into death;
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy *catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen

Communion | God Nourishes His Church

The Lord’s Supper is for all baptized believers in good standing with an evangelical Church.

Words of Institution  / Palabras de Institución – 1 Cor. 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

Offerings and Prayer of Thanksgiving / Ofrendas e Acción de Gracias —

Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal lifeGalatians 6:6-10

Galatas 6:6-10
