Call to Worship | God Gathers His Church

– Santo, Santo, Santo / Holy. Holy. Holy

Bless the Lord, O my soul!
    O Lord my God, you are very great!
You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
    covering yourself with light as with a garment,
    stretching out the heavens like a tent.
You cause the grass to grow for the livestock
    and plants for man to cultivate,
that he may bring forth food from the earth —
    wine to gladden the heart of man,
oil to make his face shine
    and bread to strengthen man’s heart.
May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
    may the Lord rejoice in his works,
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
    I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
May my meditation be pleasing to him,
    for I rejoice in the Lord.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Praise the Lord!

¡Alaba, alma mía, al Señor!
Señor mi Dios, tú eres grandioso;
    te has revestido de gloria y majestad.
Te cubres de luz como con un manto;

    extiendes los cielos como un velo.
    el aceite que hace brillar el rostro,
    y el pan que sustenta la vida.
Que la gloria del Señor perdure eternamente;
    que el Señor se regocije en sus obras.
Cantaré al Señor toda mi vida;
    cantaré salmos a mi Dios mientras tenga aliento.
Quiera él agradarse de mi meditación;
    yo por mi parte me alegro en el Señor.
¡Alaba, alma mía, al Señor!
¡Aleluya! ¡Alabado sea el Señor!

Lord’s Prayer / El Padre Nuestro

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom
and the power and the glory forever.
Amen

Padre nuestro que estás en el cielo,
santificado sea tu nombre.
mas líbranos del mal;
Amen.

CONFESSION OF SINS | God Forgives His People

Minister: Let us humble ourselves and confess our sins.

Ministro: Que nos humillemos y confesar nuestros pecados.

C: For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
    through my groaning all day long.
For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;

    my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah
I acknowledged my sin to you,

    and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”

    and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.

Selah
Pero te confesé mi pecado,
    y no te oculté mi maldad.
Me dije: «Voy a confesar mis transgresiones al Señor»,
    y tú perdonaste mi maldad y mi pecado.

Silent prayer / Orar en silencio

Let everyone who is godly
    offer prayer to the Lord while he may be found.

Que todos los fieles oren al Señor
     mientras pueda ser hallado.

Assurance of Pardon / Seguridad de Perdón –

M: Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
    whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity.
    steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.
Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous,
    and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

    la misericordia del Señor acompaña a todos los que confían en él.
¡Alégrense, O justos;
    regocíjense en el Señor!
¡canten todos ustedes,
    los rectos de corazón!

Consecration | God Equips His Church

Scripture Reading and Prayer – Exodus 12 (selected)

The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month every man shall take a lamb according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household. And if the household is too small for a lamb, then he and his nearest neighbor shall take according to the number of persons; according to what each can eat you shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats, and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month, when the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill their lambs at twilight. Then they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they eat it. They shall eat the flesh that night, roasted on the fire; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat it … In this manner you shall eat it: with your belt fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord‘s Passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord. The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt. This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast …You shall observe this rite as a statute for you and for your sons forever. And when you come to the land that the Lord will give you, as he has promised, you shall keep this service. And when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’ you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the Lord‘s Passover, for he passed over the houses of the people of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians but spared our houses.’” And the people bowed their heads and worshiped.

Collect: Almighty and everlasting God, increase in us the gifts of faith, hope, and charity; and, so that we may obtain what you promise, make us love what you command; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Sermon: The Last Passover – Luke 22:7-21

Then came the day of Unleavened Bread, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. So Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat it.” They said to him, “Where will you have us prepare it?” He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house that he enters and tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ And he will show you a large upper room furnished; prepare it there.” And they went and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover. And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise, the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.

Confession of Faith

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into death;
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy *catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen

Communion | God Nourishes His Church

The Lord’s Supper is for all baptized believers in good standing with an evangelical Church.

Christ, our Passover lamb has been sacrificed. Let us celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Cor. 5:7-8

Words of Institution  / Palabras de Institución – 1 Cor. 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, for my memorial”

he has filled the hungry with good things. (Magnificat, Luke 1)

Offerings and Prayer of Thanksgiving / Ofrendas e Acción de Gracias — Proverbs / Proverbios 3:9-10

Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.
