Call to Worship | God Gathers His Church

– Contempla Dios / Behold our God

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
    let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
    let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God,
    and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
    the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
    and his hands formed the dry land.
Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
    let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! (Psam 95:1-6)

Vengan, cantemos con júbilo al Señor;
    aclamemos a la roca de nuestra salvación.
Lleguemos ante él con acción de gracias,
    aclamémoslo con cánticos.
Porque el Señor es el gran Dios,
    el gran Rey sobre todos los dioses.
En sus manos están los abismos de la tierra;
    suyas son las cumbres de los montes.
Suyo es el mar, porque él lo hizo;
    con sus manos formó la tierra firme.
Vengan, postrémonos reverentes,
    doblemos la rodilla
    ante el Señor nuestro Hacedor.

Lord’s Prayer / El Padre Nuestro

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom
and the power and the glory forever.
Amen

Padre nuestro que estás en el cielo,
santificado sea tu nombre.
mas líbranos del mal;
Amen.

CONFESSION OF SINS | God Forgives His People

Minister: Let us humble ourselves and confess our sins.

Ministro: Que nos humillemos y confesar nuestros pecados.

C: Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my pleas for mercy!
    In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
Enter not into judgment with your servant,

    for no one living is righteous before you.
For the enemy has pursued my soul;

    he has crushed my life to the ground;
    he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead.
Therefore my spirit faints within me;

    my heart within me is appalled.
Teach me to do your will,

    for you are my God!
Let your good Spirit lead me

    on level ground!
For your name’s sake, O Lord, preserve my life!

    In your righteousness bring my soul out of trouble! (Psalm 143:1-4, 9-11)

C: Escucha, Señor, mi oración;
    atiende a mi súplica.
Por tu fidelidad y tu justicia,

    respóndeme.
No lleves a juicio a tu siervo,

    pues ante ti nadie puede alegar inocencia.
El enemigo atenta contra mi vida:

    quiere hacerme morder el polvo.
Me obliga a vivir en las tinieblas,

    como los que murieron hace tiempo.
Ya no me queda aliento;

    dentro de mí siento paralizado el corazón.
Enséñame a hacer tu voluntad,

    porque tú eres mi Dios.
Que tu buen Espíritu me guíe

    por un terreno sin obstáculos.
Por tu nombre, Señor, dame vida;

    por tu justicia, sácame de este aprieto.

Silent prayer / Orar en silencio

Assurance of Pardon / Seguridad de Perdón –

M: Everyone who trusts in God from the heart will be justified; the one who humbles himself will be exalted.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord.

Alzen sus corazones. Los alzamos al Señor.

*Kids 3 and under may dismiss to Bible Class during this song. Sermón en español en Salon numero 6. Prayers may be offered in preparation to hear God’s word.

Consecration | God Equips His Church

Scripture Reading and Prayer – Zechariah 3:1-7

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was standing before the angel, clothed with filthy garments. And the angel said to those who were standing before him, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.”And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord was standing by. And the angel of the Lord solemnly assured Joshua, “Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my charge, then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here.

Collect: O God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity: Grant us the fullness of your grace, that we, running to obtain your promises, may become partakers of your heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who
lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Sermon: Rob Aldridge — Luke 18:9-14

He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Confession of Faith

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into death;
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy *catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen

Communion | God Nourishes His Church

The Lord’s Supper is for all baptized believers in good standing with an evangelical Church.

Words of Institution  / Palabras de Institución – 1 Cor. 11:23-26

For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

Communion Served at the Table / Comunion Servido en la Mesa

[ Interlude – Instrumental ]

Response / Respuesta

For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!

My soul magnifies the Lord,
    and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
he has filled the hungry with good things. (Magnifact, Luke 1)

May the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ strengthen and preserve you steadfast in the true faith unto everlasting life. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Offerings and Prayer of Thanksgiving / Ofrendas e Acción de Gracias —

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. Mal 3:10
