Jesus’ Covenant Promises

According to the Book of Hebrews, Jesus Christ has obtained a ministry that is much more excellent than the old since the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.

+ Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory, the exact image of God’s nature, and the sovereign ruler of the world. 1:3

+ Jesus will destroy all his enemies and save all his brothers and sisters. 1:13-14

+ Jesus destroyed the devil and his evil works. 2:14

+ Jesus set us free from slavery to fear and death and helps those who are being tempted. 2:15-18

+ Jesus made atonement for our sins. 2:17

+ Jesus will bring us into his eternal Sabbath-rest. 4:9-10

+ Jesus will give us mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. 4:14-16

+ Jesus will not overlook our work and love. 6:10

+ Jesus will represent you before God forever. 6:18-20

+ Jesus will save you completely and intercede for you always. 7:25

+ Jesus writes the covenant of grace on your heart and mind. 8:10

+ Jesus is our God and we are his people. 8:11

+ Jesus will forgive our wickedness and remember our sins no more. 8:12

+ Jesus secured an eternal redemption for us. 9:12

+ Jesus cleanses our consciences from acts that lead to death (sins) so that we may serve the living God. 9:14

+ Jesus is the mediator of a new covenant so that we may receive the promised eternal inheritance, now that he has died as a ransom to set us free from sins. 9:15

+ Jesus was sacrificed to take away the sins of many and will appear a second time to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. 9:27-28

+ Jesus made us perfect forever through the sacrifice of his body. 10:14

+ Jesus enables us to stand before God in the Most Holy Place with confidence. 10:19-21

+ Jesus will come and will not delay. 10:37

+ Jesus will shake the temporal universe and establish the eternal heavens and earth. 12:27

+ Jesus will never leave you and he will never forsake you. 13:5

+ Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 13:8

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
