Call to Worship: God Gathers His Church

Praise the Lord!
I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart,
    in the company of the upright, in the congregation.
Great are the works of the Lord,
    studied by all who delight in them.
Full of splendor and majesty is his work,
    and his righteousness endures forever.
He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered;
    the Lord is gracious and merciful.
He provides food for those who fear him;
    he remembers his covenant forever.
He has shown his people the power of his works,
    in giving them the inheritance of the nations.
The works of his hands are faithful and just;
    all his precepts are trustworthy;
they are established forever and ever,
    to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.
He sent redemption to his people;
    he has commanded his covenant forever.
    Holy and awesome is his name!
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
    all those who practice it have a good understanding.
    His praise endures forever!

Aleluya.
Alabaré al Señor de todo corazón,

    en compañía de la comunidad de los fieles.
Las obras del Señor son grandes;
    todos los que las desean, las buscan.
La creación del Señor es hermosa,
    y su justicia permanece para siempre.
El Señor es bondadoso y compasivo,
    y todo lo que hace merece recordarse.
El Señor alimenta a quienes lo honran,
    y nunca se olvida de su pacto.
Reveló a su pueblo su gran poder,
    y le dio en propiedad las tierras de otras naciones.
Todo lo que él hace es justo y verdadero;
    sus mandamientos son dignos de confianza.

Lord’s Prayer / El Padre Nuestro

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom
and the power and the glory forever.
Amen

Padre nuestro que estás en el cielo,
santificado sea tu nombre.
mas líbranos del mal;
Amen.

Confession of Sins | God Forgives His People

Minister: Brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, let us draw near and humbly confess our sins to God.

O God, you are holy, holy, holy. And we are sinful. You are always faithful and true. And we are often unfaithful and fake. Like our parents Adam and Eve, we desire what is prohibited, and despise what is provided. We love the world and the things in it. We are often moved to rebel against your holy word by the desires of the flesh, and the desires of the eyes, and the desires of pride. We lust for more pleasure, more power, more possessions. We are often discontent and ungrateful, so we grumble and complain. We confess these sins in the hope that you will keep your promise to forgive and forget our sins, and fellowship with us, for you are our Father, and we are your little children; Jesus Christ is our brother, and the Spirit is our seal of our redemption. Amen

Oh Dios, eres santo, santo, santo. Y somos pecadores. Siempre eres fiel y verdadero. Y a menudo somos infieles y falsos.

Consecration: God Equips His Church

Scripture Reading — Galatians 3:21-28

Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Collect. Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ’s Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen..  Amen.

Message: God’s Promise to Rescue the World in Christ – Genesis 3:14-24

The Lord God said to the serpent,

“Because you have done this,
    cursed are you above all livestock
    and above all beasts of the field;
on your belly you shall go,
    and dust you shall eat
    all the days of your life.
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
    and you shall bruise his heel.”

To the woman he said,

“I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing;
    in pain you shall bring forth children.
Your desire shall be  your husband,
    but he shall rule over you.”

And to Adam he said,

“Because you have listened to the voice of your wife
    and have eaten of the tree
of which I commanded you,
    ‘You shall not eat of it,’
cursed is the ground because of you;
    in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;
thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you;
    and you shall eat the plants of the field.
By the sweat of your face
    you shall eat bread,
till you return to the ground,
    for out of it you were taken;
for you are dust,
    and to dust you shall return.”

The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
And the Lord God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.

Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.

Confession of Faith: God Saves His Church

Congregation Recites – The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father,
Almighty Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into death;
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy *catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen

*The word catholic means universal and refers to the whole Christian church throughout the world.

COMMUNION | God Nourishes His People

Scripture Reading and Prayer /  Lectura y Oración –

If you have been baptized into Christ, and trust Him as your only hope for Salvation, and are a member in good standing at any Christian church, then you are invited to eat and drink with God’s family at Christ’s invitation.

Scripture Reading and Prayer — 1 Cor. 10:14-17

My beloved, flee from idolatry…The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.

Offerings and Prayer of Thanksgiving / Ofrendas e Acción de Gracias

Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal lifeGalatians 6:6-10

Galatas 6:6-10

COMMISSION | God Sends His People

Missional Benediction / Bendición Misional

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God; do not seek your own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved. 1 Cor. 10:31-32

M: May God be gracious to us and bless us
    and make his face to shine upon us, Selah
that your way may be known on earth,
    your saving power among all nations.
C: Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you! Psalm 67:1-3

M: Dios nos tenga compasión y nos bendiga;
    y entre todas las naciones su salvación.
C: Que te alaben, oh Dios, los pueblos;
    que todos los pueblos te alaben.
