New Days

A few more thoughts on John 19:41-42 and Genesis 1-2

Near the first garden, God made man in his image, then put him in the garden on the sixth day. Near the last garden, God re-made man in the image and likeness of God and he was put in the garden tomb on the sixth day.

God rested from all his works of creation on the seventh day. The God-man rested from all his redemptive works on the sabbath day.

On the first day of the old creation, God spoke light into the world and scattered the darkness. On the first day of the new creation, the Light of the world arose and spoke life into the world and overcame death. God separated light from darkness, night from day, and there was evening, and there was morning: the new first day.
