New Year’s Day

On Sunday, January 1 — the eighth day of Christmas — we will gather at 5 PM and worship the true and living God in spirit and truth.

As an old U2 song goes,

“Nothing changes on New Year’s Day.”

We will resume our series on John’s Gospel and start the new year with the story of Christ crucified, the slaughter of the Lamb, the death of the Life-giver.

Set aside a few moments to read the story of the cross in John 19 and to pray for a truer and better understanding of who Jesus is, what he did for you, and why he did it.

On a side note: one of the other benefits of worshiping at 5 PM is that you can party late on New Year’s eve and sleep in on New Year’s day. Remember: whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
