News & Notes

+ Redeemer Seminary will be hosting a conference on October 18. All are welcome to attend. Click here for more details. Conference: Kingdom Hope for All the World with Sinclair Ferguson and the Getty’s

+ Calvary First will be hosting a Red Cross blood drive on Nov. 6th. They are extending an invitation to us to participate in this community event. We need to RSVP ASAP.

+ CCC was invited by some folks at C-Life to help with a ministry called KIDs Beach Club. It is an after school program for elementary age kids that teaches Bible truths using songs, games, stories, memory verses, and prayer. Due to our involvement, we will be able to connect with families of the kids and invite them to our church. If anyone would like to join us in this ministry, please let Shannon know. The club meets at Hanby Elem. on Thursdays from 2:40-4:30. Above all, please pray that the Lord will open hearts to trust and obey him.

+ MCs — Kyle and Aaron are sharing the responsibility of leading our study at MC Forney. We are so proud of these guys. This is an answer to many prayers. Also, Clemente and MC Mesquite continue to share the gospel with friends who are outside of Christ and the church. Their  gatherings are truly missional.

+ Bo will begin teaching our Youth Class on the Life of David on October 9. We will show you which class room this coming Sunday.

+ We appreciate how well everyone has adjusted to our new schedule. Nearly 100% of our members participate in MCs, Bible class, and worship on a regular basis. Also, we appreciate how well everyone has given themselves first to serving the Lord and then to supporting the ministry of the gospel here.

+ One of the advantages of our gathering late Sunday afternoon is that we are able to connect with sister congregations. Some of you have visited Rockwall Pres. Marq and Bo have been invited to preach at Westminster Pres in Greenville. (They do not have a pastor at this time and are too small to call one.) Clemente and Marq will visit Cristo Rey Pres in a couple weeks. Some of those folks have already visited us or plan to do so soon. One of the advantages of being part of the PCA is that there is plenty of room to serve one another in love.
