Call to Worship: God Gathers His Church

– All Creatures of our God and King

Clap your hands, all peoples!
    Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
For the Lord, the Most High, is to be feared,
    a great king over all the earth.
He subdued peoples under us,
    and nations under our feet.
He chose our heritage for us,
    the pride of Jacob whom he loves. Selah

God has gone up with a shout,
    the Lord with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises!
    Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
For God is the King of all the earth;
    sing praises with a psalm!

God reigns over the nations;
    God sits on his holy throne.
The princes of the peoples gather
    as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God;
    he is highly exalted! Psalm 47

¡Pueblos todos, aplaudan!

¡Aclamen a Dios con voz de júbilo!
Porque el SEÑOR, el Altísimo,
es temible,
gran Rey sobre toda la tierra.
Él someterá los pueblos a nosotros,
las naciones debajo de nuestros pies.
Porque él ha elegido nuestra heredad;
el orgullo de Jacob, al cual amó. Selah
Subió Dios en medio de aclamación;
el SEÑOR, con sonido de corneta.
¡Canten a Dios, canten!
¡Canten a nuestro Rey, canten!
Salmo 47

O God, who for our redemption did give your only-begotten Son to the death of the Cross, and by his glorious resurrection has delivered us from the power of our enemy; Grant us so to die daily from sin, that we may evermore live with him in the joy of his resurrection; through the same Christ our Lord. Amen. (Book of Common Prayer)

Lord, Let Your Light

Confession of Sins | God Forgives His People

Minister: Brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, let us draw near and humbly confess our sins to God.

Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from Your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against Your holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and there is nothing good in us. O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore those who are penitent; according to Your promises declared unto men in Christ Jesus our Lord. Grant that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life; to the glory of His name. Amen

Hemos faltado a tus santas leyes.

Assurance of Pardon / Seguridad de Perdón

Minister: According to the promises of the new covenant, God will be merciful toward your iniquities and  remember your sins no more. Stand and lift up your hearts in worship, trusting that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all our sins.

Consecration: God Equips His Church

Scripture Reading – Isaiah 25:1-9

Lord, you are my God;
    I will exalt you; I will praise your name,
for you have done wonderful things,
    plans formed of old, faithful and sure.
For you have made the city a heap,
    the fortified city a ruin;
the foreigners’ palace is a city no more;
    it will never be rebuilt.
Therefore strong peoples will glorify you;
    cities of ruthless nations will fear you.
For you have been a stronghold to the poor,
    a stronghold to the needy in his distress,
    a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat;
for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall,
     like heat in a dry place.
You subdue the noise of the foreigners;
    as heat by the shade of a cloud,
    so the song of the ruthless is put down.

On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples
    a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine,
    of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined.
And he will swallow up on this mountain
    the covering that is cast over all peoples,
    the veil that is spread over all nations.
    He will swallow up death forever;
and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces,
    and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth,
    for the Lord has spoken.
It will be said on that day,
    “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us.
    This is the Lord; we have waited for him;
    let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”

Collect. Almighty God, who through your only-begotten Son Jesus Christ has overcome death, and opened unto us the gate of everlasting life; We humbly ask you that, just as by your special grace preventing us you put into our minds good desires, so by your continual help we may bring the same good desires to good effect; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit forever, one God, world without end. Amen.

Message: Ws on the Third Day — John 2:1-12

On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples. When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it. When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.” This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him. After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days.

Pastoral Prayer – from the Valley of Vision

Adorable Redeemer
You who was lifted up on a cross
are ascended to highest heaven.
You, who as Man of sorrows was crowned with thorns,
are now as Lord of life wreathed with glory.
Once, no shame more deep than yours,
no agony more bitter,
no death more cruel.
Now, no exaltation more high,
no life more glorious,
no advocate more effective.
What more could be done than you have done?!
Your death is our life,
Your resurrection our peace,
Your ascension our hope,
Your prayers our comfort.
For your glory, and by your grace,

I Will Rise*

Confession of Faith: God Saves His Church

Congregation Recites – The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father,
Almighty Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into death;
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy *catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

O Glorious Day

Communion: God Nourishes His Church

If you are a baptized Christian, and you trust Jesus as your only hope for Salvation, and you are a member in good standing at any Christian church, then you are invited to eat and drink at the Lord’s table. Please hold the elements that we partake of them together.

Scripture Reading — Since you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. (Col 3:1-4)

M – Question: What does it mean to eat the crucified body of Christ and to drink his poured-out blood?

C – Answer. It means to accept with a believing heart the entire suffering and death of Christ and by believing to receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life. But it means more. Through the Holy Spirit, who lives both in Christ and in us, we are united more and more to Christ’s blessed body. And so, although he is in heaven and we are on earth, we are flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone. And we forever live on and are governed by one Spirit, as members of our body are by one soul. (Heidelberg Catechism 76)

[ Interlude ]

Offering and Prayer of Thanksgiving / Ofrenda e Acción de Gracias —

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For yours is the kingdom
and the power
and the glory forever.

Padre nuestro que estás en el cielo,
santificado sea tu nombre.
Venga tu reino;
mas líbranos del mal;
porque tuyo es el reino,
y el poder,
y la gloria, por todos los siglos.

the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
