CALL TO WORSHIP | God Gathers His People

– Come and Sing

Welcome, Scripture Reading, and Prayers

You have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant…Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. Heb 12:22-24, 28-29

CONFESSION OF SINS | God Forgives His People

– Come Thou Fount

Minister: Brothers and sisters, since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us draw near and humbly confess our sins to God.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Heb 4:15-16

Assurance of Pardon / Seguridad de Perdón

Minister: According to the promises of the new covenant, God will be merciful to you and remember your sins no more.

Minister: Since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Heb 10:19-23

CONSECRATION | God Equips His People

Scripture Reading and Prayer

And Samuel said, “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and presumption is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king.” (1 Samuel 15:22-23)

Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: “Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat the flesh. For in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to your fathers or command them concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices. But this command I gave them: ‘Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people. And walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’ But they did not obey or incline their ear, but walked in their own counsels and the stubbornness of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward. (Jeremiah 7:21-24)

Collect. Lord of all power and might, the author and giver of all good things: Graft in our hearts the love of your Name; increase in us true religion; nourish us with all goodness; and bring forth in us the fruit of good works; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Sermon: Go with the FLOW: Love God — Deuteronomy 10:12-13

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good?

Pastoral Prayer –

O merciful God, when Christ came into the world, he said, “Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me; in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure. Then he said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.’” And by that will — your will — we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O LORD. I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart; I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation. Now, O Lord, do not restrain your mercy from us; let your steadfast love and faithfulness preserve us always. Be pleased O Lord to deliver us, and make haste to help us. May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in your Son Jesus Christ; may those who love your salvation say continually, “Great is the LORD!” Amen (Hebrews 10:5-10; Psalm 40:9-11, 13, 16)

CONFESSION | God Sustains His People

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

We believe God spoke to our fathers by the prophets long ago,
at many times and in many ways,
 but in these last days
he has spoken to us by his Son,
whom he appointed the heir of all things,
through whom also he created the world.

He is the radiance of the glory of God,
and the exact imprint of his nature,
and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.
After making purification for sins,
he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Amen Heb 1:1-3

COMMUNION | God Nourishes His People

Scripture Reading –

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” Heb 8:10-12

[ Interlude – Instrumental ]

Offering and Prayer of Thanksgiving / Ofrenda e Acción de Gracias —

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” Heb 13:5-6

COMMISSION: God Sends His Church

Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another. Heb 10:24-25

Benediction:  Grace be with all of you.
